Aaahhh…breathe easy! We're a 100% smoke-free environment. So please follow our no-smoking rules—there's a $200 USD fine per night for anyone lighting up inside the hotel.
Animals are family, too! That’s why Aloft Santa Clara welcomes dogs and cats up to 40 pounds.* Our pet-friendly arf(SM) program offers a special bed, bowl, and a doggie bag of woof-alicious treats and toys, all complimentary to use during your stay. Please make sure they’re on their best behavior—we don’t want to charge you extra for housekeeping!
Please also note that pets must be with their owners at all times while staying with us - both in the rooms and in the public spaces. There is a waiver that must be completed at check-in for all pets. In addition, a fee of 50 USD per stay applies.
* If your dog weighs more than 40 pounds, please contact the hotel directly to discuss a waiver.
For the safety and security of your pets and the hotel staff, housekeeping service will not be provided while pets are in the room. If you would like to coordinate a time for service of your room while you and your pet are away, please contact the Aloha Desk.
Credit/Debit Card Policy
Debit and Credit cards will be authorized at check-in for the amount of your stay, plus an amount to cover incidentals. The authorization will hold the funds until check out, at which time the amount actually incurred during the stay will be charged. Authorized amounts may take up to 30 days after departure to be released by your bank or financial institution and the hotel will not be responsible for any resulting fees or charges.
EMV/Chip & PIN Credit Card Policy
Please be aware this hotel is EMV/Chip & PIN ready and your credit card’s PIN may be necessary for you to check-in to the hotel. If you are not aware of the PIN for your chip credit card, or you are unsure if your card requires a PIN, please contact the financial institution that issued your credit card for clarity and to secure your PIN.
In the unlikely event that the hotel receives noise complaints from nearby guests, the following protocol will apply:
First notification: warning
Second notification: non-registered guests will be asked to leave the hotel
Third and final notification: guests will be evicted from the hotel without refund
In the state of California, alcohol is for adults-only—so we only serve and sell to guests 21 and over. (Remember your ID!)
Package Handling Policy
There is a package handling fee for all incoming and outbound packages. Please contact the hotel directly for the exact fee.
Late Checkout Policy
Late checkouts are subject to availability and the following fees apply:
Up to 6pm, a fee of 50% of the daily rate applies.
After 6pm, a fee of one night applies.
Family Plan Policy
Room rates include the accommodation of children (17 years old or younger) who sleep in the existing bedding of a guest room. Rollaway beds and cribs may incur extra charges.
Tax Exempt Policy
The city of San Jose accepts Transient Occupancy Tax exemptions for Federal and Foreign Government employees only. To be eligible for this exemption the following items are required:
Travel orders on official government agency letterhead.
A copy of valid government identification.
Should either item be missing, the city of San Jose will not grant exemption requests.
Early Arrival Policy
Check in at 3pm or later and your Aloft room will be ready and waiting. Eager to get in earlier? Just ask at the front desk, and we'll do our best to find you a room that's ready. No guarantees—it depends on the last guests and our housekeeping schedule—but if we can't squeeze you in early, we'll be happy to hang on to your luggage in the meantime.
Early Departure Policy
If you have a sudden change of schedule and need to cut out early, stop by the front desk by 6pm the day before departure to avoid an early departure penalty of one night's room and tax.
